A Distillery Reimagined
Explore the vision behind The Dalmore’s reimagined distillery, where guests will enjoy an immersive experience bringing together elevated storytelling with rich, tactile and sensory moments.
In 2026 The Dalmore will welcome guests once again to its Highland distillery on the shores of the Cromarty Firth with an entirely reimagined brand home.
Thoughtfully redeveloped through considered design, the distillery has been enhanced with a new stillhouse and guest experience, bringing to life the story of our whisky-making artistry while honouring our distinct heritage.
Led by our expert hosts, guests will enjoy a private, one-of-a-kind experience with elevated storytelling and rich sensory moments, complemented by an exquisite, guided tasting from a curated selection of The Dalmore’s Principal and Limited Edition expressions.
A Story of Purpose and Provenance
The Dalmore’s story is one of purpose and provenance. Our unique collection of deliberately unbalanced stills affords us an unrivalled precision over distillation, allowing our whisky makers to create a spirit of remarkable depth and layered richness, found nowhere else.
With two distinct flavour profiles – one with bright, prominent citrus notes, the other with a deeper malty character - our combined new make spirit is purposely designed for a long, complex maturation.
Our whisky makers enrich this precious spirit by moving it between rare and exclusive casks from some of the world’s most prestigious wineries and bodegas to develop a deeper, richer, more complex whisky.
A Reimagined Brand Home
The vision for The Dalmore’s reimagined distillery was simple - to create an authentic home that spoke to the rich heritage of our brand while welcoming visitors with an impressive and immersive one-of-a-kind experience.
It felt essential to use the character of the distillery buildings to tell the story of The Dalmore in an original way. “We wanted to reuse as many of the original buildings as possible,” says Steven Pearson, Chief Marketing Officer at The Dalmore. “These old walls are rich with history and stories, so it was important to honour that heritage while opening this new chapter for The Dalmore.”
Above all our reimagined home had to tell the story of how we achieve the rare depth and complexity of our Single Malt. “Our purpose is to create the exceptional reward, both within our whisky and within the development at the distillery,” says Michael Sloan, CEO at The Dalmore. “By bringing in guests, we will help them to understand how we make our whisky and what makes us stand apart.”
Additionally, to support future growth, it was important to be able to increase capacity when needed, which meant building a brand-new stillhouse with new stills. Meticulously built by Forsyths, the new stills are exact replicas of the originals, ensuring the depth and complexity of our spirit remained unchanged.
“We’re not starting anew here, we’re using the old with the new,” says Richard Paterson, Master Blender at The Dalmore. “We have ensured that everything is in place to give our whisky the same credentials it had before, and that will continue well into the future.”
By bringing in guests, we will help them to understand how we make our whisky and what makes us stand apart.
A Rare Glimpse Behind The Scenes
The guest experience at the distillery has been specifically designed to offer a rare behind-the-scenes insight into the artistry of whisky making at The Dalmore.
Guests will journey through a series of grand, uniquely immersive rooms, each revealing key storytelling moments through a considered interplay of light, texture and sensory detail. These spaces are punctuated by intimate corridors of light - transitional ‘palate cleansers’ designed to gently reset and prepare the senses for what follows.
An overwhelming component to the distillery experience is our symphony of stills housed within the brand-new stillhouse. Elegantly revealed to guests from above, the stills are bathed in a whisky-palette of amber-toned light filtered through the central fused glass window designed by the artist John Kenneth Clark.
A guided tasting will allow guests to discover exquisite flavour and aroma through our Principal and Limited Edition expressions. “The guest experience will bring The Dalmore to life for many people who may have only enjoyed The Dalmore Single Malt at home,” says Angela Wilson, The Dalmore’s Brand Home Manager. “This experience really will take it to the next level.”
Guests will be hosted privately and be able to personalise their experience prior to arrival, adding bespoke elements through our guest concierge if they wish. A priority booking window will be available to The Dalmore Guild members on 26th March 2026, before opening to the general public on 30 March 2026.
